CONSTITUTION:The moving unit 3 is lifted by air diffused from an air hole 1a and is moved by an eddy current induced in the secondary side conductor 5b by a moving field generated at the primary side 5a of a linear motor 5. When a limit switch is operated upon movement of the moving unit 3, the supply of compressed air into rails 1 is stopped and a direct current is simultaneously flowed to the coil of the primary side 5a of the linear motor, thereby generating braking force at the linear motor 5. In this manner the moving unit can be stopped without large impact or without noise caused by the impact.
