Abstract

PURPOSE:To stop a moving body correctly by disposing a stop portion by magnetic attracting force at a moving body stop position of a linear motor and stopping the linear motor by a stop signal to operate a magnetic attracting portion. CONSTITUTION:A moving body 2 which is a pallet-like article placing table is guided by rollers 1 disposed in a specified path going by way of stations in a production line. An induction linear motor 3 comprises shifting magnetic field generating devices 3a disposed at fixed intervals in the path and a secondary conductor 3b disposed on the base of the mover 2. A station is provided with a stopping device 4 comprising a fixed core 4b and a coil 4d of the floor, which is adapted to attract a movable core 4a of the moving body 2 so as to stop the moving body. Before such a stop, the excitation of the linear motor is stopped to operate the stopping device, which can lessen the inertial force of the moving body so as to accomplish a stop operation correctly.
