Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the titled recording material excellent in the thermal color development and the storage stability, the resistance to light, and the fastness to plasticizing of the developed color image, by employing specified aromatic sulfides, sulfoxides and sulfones as electron accepting developer. CONSTITUTION:One or more of aromatic sulfides, sulfoxides and sulfones, as electron accepting developer, having the general formula, wherein X1 and X2 represent halogen, and n is an integer of from 0 to 2, such as 2,2'-bis(4-halophenol)sulfide, in a quantity of 1 to 95pts.wt. and crystal violet or the like, as electron donating coupler, in a quantity of 1 to 15pts.wt. are separately dispersed in a binder such as PVA (1 to 40pts. wt. in total). Then they are mixed, and the resulting dispersion is applied on a support of, for example, paper and dried. If necessary, a wax, a pigment, a lubricant, etc. are added to the dispersion. EFFECT:The ground is less stained, and the degree of spontaneous color development under wet heat is reduced. USE:Heat-sensitive recording sheet.
