Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a clad pipe of superior apperance and quality by tack welding two pieces of clad shape steels formed with lip parts to base metals, moving the lip parts to between electrodes and pressure-welding these. CONSTITUTION:Lip parts 3 exposing partially to the edge sides of base metal steel plates 1 are formed, and dissimilar metal sheets 2 are clad by using an adhesive agent. The clad plates with such lips are formed to shape steels and are opposed at the lip parts 3, thence they are tack-welded in a pipe shape. This is fed to a welding device, and a pipe blank material P is moved so as to sandwich the lip parts 3 between the electrode rolls 4 forming welding heads, thence while these are being pressed with the rolls 4, they are welded. Since this method welds the materials 1 to themselves, no adverse influence by the dissimilar metals for coating is given.
