PURPOSE:To facilitate the tuning operation of a radio part by performing radio switching without exerting any adverse influence upon a pinch roller while a cassette is being loaded, by controlling the movement of the head base plate of a tape part under electric conduction control. CONSTITUTION:When a cassette is loaded into a tape part 63, the 2nd radio/tape changeover switch 61 is connected to a contact 61b in interlocking with the loading operation. Then, when the 1st radio/tape changeover switch 58 is connected to a contact 58b, the solenoid of the tape part 63 is energized according to electric conduction, and a head base plate moves to a play position to set a tape play state. when the switch 58 is connected to a contact 58c with the cassette loaded, electric current is conducted to the radio part 62 to set a radio mode, and electric conduction to the tape part 63 is cut off to return the head base plate to its original position, so that a pinch roller separated from a capstan is placed in a no-play state without any adverse influence. In this case, the cassette is not an obstacle in a dial view window during the turning of the radio part 62 because the cassette is still loaded, facilitating the tuning operation.
