Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the molten amount and the spray coating speed and to improve the spray coating efficiency, by preheating a metallic wire just before melting with a heat source other than the main heat source. CONSTITUTION:Between power supply parts 1 and 1a, each of which has a hole through which a metallic wire 3 is inserted, an insulator 2 made of a ceramic pipe, etc., is kinged and they are electrically insulated from each other. Combustion gases, such as oxygen, acethylene, are supplied to a combustion gas nozzle 4 installed on the outer surface of the power supply part cylinder, and the compressed air is supplied from another nozzle 5. When the metallic wire 3 is fed to the power supply parts 1 and 1a by a roller 6, the wire 3 is preheated with an electric current. Since the preheated wire is melted relatively easily, the amount of molten spray coating blown out from the air nozzle 5 is greatly increased and high-speed feeding becomes possible.
