Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a phenomenon dissolving a transparent electrode and to enchance the moisture resistance by filling an org. adhesive in an external gap part enclosed by upper and lower electrode substrates and a peripheral sealant and curing the adhesive. CONSTITUTION:Upper and lower substrates 11, 12 with electrodes 11a, 12a formed are superposed on each other, and the peripheries are sealed with a sealant 13. After injecting a liq. crystal from an injection hole, the hole is sealed airtightly. An org. adhesive 16 consisting of liq. epoxy resin or the like, a curing agent and an alcohol or ketone solvent is then filled in an external gap part enlcosed by the substrates 11, 12 and the sealant 13, and the adhesive is cured by heating. Thus, no water droplets gather in the external gap part to prevent a phenomenon dissolving the transparent electrode, and a liq. crystal display element of high reliability is obtd.
