Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled compsn. which is inexpensive, has little toxicity and odor and is suitable as a paint for use in the production of insulating wires, by dissolving a compsn. composed mainly of a polyester resin in a specified alkylene carbonate.
CONSTITUTION: If necessary, 0.4W40pts.wt. polyvalent isocyanate compd. and/or 0.004W1.2pts.wt. organometallic compd. such as tetrabutyl titanate or tin caprylate in order to improve heat resistance and mechanical characteristics of a coating film, are/is blended with 100pts.wt. polyester base resin such as a polyester resin or a polyester imide resin. The resulting compsn. is dissolved in an alkylene carbonate of the formula wherein R is H, lower alkyl, or in a mixed solvent contg. at least 10wt% said alkylene carbonate.
