Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate an incomplete combustion at the initial stage of combustion according to the combustion method to vaporize and burn a liquid fuel by a method wherein at the initial stage of combustion a gaseous fuel is supplied for easy ignition and after an elapse of a certain period of time a liquid fuel is supplied and burned after vaporization.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel supply pipe 8 comprises two system; one constituted by a liquid fuel supply passage 8a having an electromagnetic valve 9 and the other constituted by a gas fuel supply passage 8b having an electromagnetic valve 10. At the initial combustion stage, the gas fuel is supplied for easy ignition through the supply passage 8b. After an elapse of a certain period of time from the ignition, the supply passage 8b is closed and the liquid fuel is then supplied through the supply passage 8a to be burned after vaporization. By said process, a vaporizing cylinder 1 is heated sufficiently by the combustion of the gas fuel which permits no incomplete combustion at the initial combustion stage. Further, even when the fuel to be used is changed over from the gas fuel to the liquid fuel, for example, kerosene after a certain period of time elapses, the kerosene flowing onto a fuel distributor 1a in the vaporizing cylinder 1 can vaporize immediately to form a mixture with an air, which flows into the combustion chamber 6. Thus any incomplete combustion can be eliminated.
