Abstract

PURPOSE: To make titled desplay possible irrespectively of screw plays by detecting the positions of tie bar nuts with respect to tie bars from the number of revolutions thereof, and digitally displaying the die thickness corresponding to the number of revolutions.
CONSTITUTION: When tie bar nuts 10 are rotated by way of hand gears 13 at the time of adjusting die thickness, a moving die plate 7 and a link-housing 9 are begun to move toward a stationary die plate 5 by a toggle mechanism 12. At this time, pulse generators 15 detect the number of revolutions of the nuts 10 from pulse generating scales 14 as the nuts 10 revolve. The pulses from the two generators 15 in phase difference positions of π/2 are inputted to a π/2 phase difference discriminating circuit 17 of a die thickness display part 16 which in turn digitally displays the extent of movement of the plate 7 on a counter 18. In accordance with the die thickness, the distance between the plates 5 and 7 is set. In this way, the extents of movement of the plate 7 and the housing 9 are set in accordance with die thicknesses irrespectively of the plays between tie bars 8 and the nuts 10.
