Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of a trimming roll by incorporating a trimming roll magnet in a trimming roll opposite to a developing roll. CONSTITUTION:A developing roll 2 is formed of a magnet roll 7, a revolving sleeve 5, etc. A magnetic trimming roll 3 is constituted of a sleeve 5 opposing this roll 2 at a prescribed spacing, and turning in the same direction as that of the sleeve 5, and a trimming magnet 8a of a cylindrical shape or the like incorporated therein. With this constitution, the roll 3 controlling the amount of a one component type magnetic toner by adjusting the magnetic flux density of the roll 2 is not required to be formed of a heavy iron material. The degree of freedom in the shape and the like of the trimming magnet is increased and the weight of the magnetic trimming roll of a developing device is reduced.
