Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled resin composition having improved impact resistance without lowering heat resistance, obtained by blending a specific aromatic vinyl monomer- maleic anhydride copolymer with a rubber reinforced styrene type polymer and polyphenylene ether.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 25W48.5wt% thermoplastic resin obtained by copolymerizing ≤20wt%, preferably 8W15wt% maleic anhydride with ≥80wt%, preferably 85W92wt% aromatic vinyl monomer is blended with (B) 25W60wt% rubber reinforced styrene type polymer and (C) 3W25wt% polyphenylene ether in order to make 100wt% total amount of the three components. A graft copolymer of styrene type compound and butadiene having an Izod impact strength 12W20kg-cm/cm and a Vicat softening temperature 82W85°C prepared from a polybutadiene having ≥90wt% cis-1,4-structure is preferable as the component B. The component A is preferably obtained by solution polymerization or bulk polymerization.
