Abstract

PURPOSE: To abtain an inexpensive coating of PVC film stable at a relatively lower temperature without use of any special solvent or expensive adhesive on a metal surfce, by forming two layers of soft PVC's having different composition.
CONSTITUTION: A metal piece 1 is heated at about 220W270°C, dipped in a fluidized colloidal solution (sol) bath of a compounded PVC3, lifted from the bath to make PVC3 gel, and reheated to make it completely gel. As a result, one end of the PVC molecule adheres to the metal surface, while the other end adheres to a pure PVC molecule in a cross-linked state. Thus, an adhesive PVC film layer is formed between the PVC layer and the metal surface. Thereafter, the treated metal piece 1 is dipped in a PVC5 sol bath comprising PVC itself or scarecely containing a plasticizer, to make PVC layer 5 gel on the periphry of the layer 3 and form a rigid coating layer.
