PURPOSE:To prevent the invasion of electric noise and the decrease of a light transmission efficiency with a simple configuration by forming a structure in which an electrically shielding cylinder arranged with condensing lens is attached internally in the hole of a shielding case corresponding to the photodetecting surface of a semiconductor photodetector. CONSTITUTION:An overall photodetector formed of photodetecting elements 2 and signal amplifiers 3 and the like is contained in an electrically shielded case 4, and a hole 5 is opened at the part of the case 4 corresponding to the photodetecting surface of the photodetecting element to an optical fiber end 1. A metallic shielding cylinder 11 is arranged between the hole 5 and the optical fiber end 1, is electrically connected to the case 4 to shield the hole 5, and condensing lens 12 is disposed in the cylinder 11. In order to completely shield electrically the case, a light transmitting thin conductive film may be covered on the surface of the lens 12.
