Abstract

PURPOSE:To avoid missing in an exhaust by forming a shallow and narrow circular groove on a driving roll and bringing a finger into pressure contact with the groove. CONSTITUTION:An inverting roll 11 is formed of a rubber and the like to produce friction. The surface of the inverting roll 11 is provided with a plurality of circular grooves 18 longitudinally spaced, and the end portion of a finger 19 formed of a thin sheet material such as stainless spring steel is brought into pressure contact with the groove 18. The width H of the groove 18 is about 5 to 10mm. in such a manner as to avoid poor crease in folding up the sheet material, and the depth L is so shallow that a finger 19 can be thrust into the groove 18 as at the time of firmly pressing the sheet material at a nip portion 12 between the groove 18 and the driving roll 6, a hollow is formed thereon, thereby to prevent the sheet material from winding round the inverting roll 11 and missing in an exhaust.
