Abstract

CONSTITUTION:This hollow groove forming device 1 has an upper plate 2 and a lower plate 3 of a rectangular shape and of the same shape and size, and a projecting line 4 is provided to the top surface of, for example, the lower plate 3, along its diagonal line. A pipe or pipe material 5 is placed on the short side edge of the top surface of this plate 3, by paralleling its axial line to the short side of the plate 3, and the upper plate 2 is lowered to hold the pipe or bar material 5 in place between the plate 2 and the plate 3. Now, while the plate 2 is being pressed toward the lower plate, the plate 2 is moved toward the opposed side of the short side of the plate 3. Then, the pipe or bar material 5 moves on the plate 3 while rolling, whereby a spiral hollow groove 6 is formed on the circumferential edge thereof.
