Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently and accurately chamfer a workpiece even if its top and bottom are not sufficiently parallel with each other, by securing the workpiece on a part of a machining jig and providing a ball of adjustable height in another part of the jig to chamfer the machined edge of the workpiece. CONSTITUTION:A ball 114 is provided to a part of a jig 104 so that the height of the ball 114 can be roughtly and finely adjusted by knobs 109, 110 and is rotatably supported. A workpiece 101 is secured on another part of the jig 104 by a magnet 106 or the like. The protrusion height of the ball 114 is set by the knobs 109, 110 so that an imaginary plane 115 defined by straight lines extending on the top of the ball 114 and on both ends of machined edge 103 of the workpiece 101 has a prescribed inclination angle. The machined edge is chamfered on the imaginary plane 115.
