Abstract

PURPOSE:To promote the reduction of labor in unattended automatic turning, by providing two headstocks which face each other on an axis and can be moved and serve to hold and rotate workpieces. CONSTITUTION:Unattended automatic turning equipment comprises headstocks 10a, 10b which are opposed to each other on an axis Z and can be moved thereon. A turning rest 16 is provided so that it can be moved in the direction of another axis X perpendicular to the former Z. One or both of the headstocks 10a, 10b are moved in the direction of the axis Z to deliver and receive a workpiece W1 so that desired automatic turning is effected ultimately on both of the sides of the workpiece W1 which are located opposite each other in the direction of the axis of the workpiece W1, thereby obtaining a finished piece. The labor-reducing equipment of high machining accuracy is thus provided.
