Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the density of the electric charge applied on a dielectric belt always constant and perform transfer by allowing the surface of the dielectric belt to contact the toner image formed on a recording medium by way of a transfer sheet, and loading the electric charge on the rear surface of said belt by a constant electric current source. CONSTITUTION:A dielectric belt 11 is made of a ''Mylar '' film or the like and is held by rollers 12, 13 to convey transfer paper 25. A precharger 14, and a transfer paper destaticizing charger 15 are provided on said belt 11. A transfer charger 17 is disposed below the transfer position where the belt 11 contacts a recording medium such as a selenium photoreceptor 16, and a constant electric current source 18 is connected thereto. This current source 18 has such characteristics that it maintains 40muA in, for example, 4kv-9kv range.
