Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the oozing of cake and improve dehydration performance by detecting the degree of the softness of the cake which is delivered from a gravity dehydrating part by being placed on filter cloths and automatically stopping the turning of the filter cloths.
CONSTITUTION: In a device of grasping the material to be treated by pressure with endless striplike filter cloths 9, 13 and dehydrating the same, a detector 20 detecting the degree of the softness of cake is provided on the down stream of a cake thickness adjusting roll 12 on the down stream side in the filter cloth rotating direction of a gravity dehydrating part 11 which filters water contents by gravity. A detector 18 is attached to the leading end of the detector 20 and the degree of the softness of cake is detected from the angle of oscillation of a sensor S which is freely oscillatable around the center P of a horizontal shaft. When the detector 18 detects the degree of the softness of more than a set value, a command signal is inputted from a decision circuit 19 to an operation circuit 21, which in turn closes an electric power source circuit 23 through an alarm device 22, and operates a stopping mechanism 24 for a motor M driving the filter cloths 9, 13, thereby automatically stopping the turning of the filter cloths 9, 13.
