Abstract
PURPOSE:To vary the wavelength of output laser light by simple control, by using a holographic grating having wavelength selectivity. CONSTITUTION:The laser light excited in a laser active layer 3 is irradiated to a diffraction grating mirror 6 through an optical waveguide 2 and the grating lens 4. Then laser resonation is generated between the diffraction grating mirror 6 and a Bragg reflector 7. Said laser light is outputted from the Bragg reflector 7. In this case, the elastic surface wave which is generated by energizing an interdigital electrode 5b is controlled, and the deflection angle of the laser which is transmitted in the optical waveguide 2 is varied. In this way, the wavelength component in the reciprocating light path formed between the grating lens 4 and the diffraction grating mirror 6 is varied, and the wavelength of the output laser light can be controlled.
