Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the damage of the outside plate of the bow of a ship due to the pulling-up of an anchor or the like and the collision of a drifting log or the like, by providing a small-width member on the vertical center line of the ship body between the upper bow and lower bulbous bow which are protruded forward.
CONSTITUTION: A small-width plate 4a is secured as a small-width member 4 on the center line X of the body of a ship to fill an entire concave opening which extends between the upper part 2 and lower bulbous part 3 of the bow 1 of the ship which are protruded forward. Though the front end of the small-width plate 4a is normally smoothly curved as a semicircle, the front end may be provided with rollers instead, if necessary.
