Abstract
PURPOSE: To dissolve difference of the turning performance in the left and right directions accompanied by steering operation in such a way that transmission ratio of a steering transmission mechanism is made different so as to be asymmetrical for its left and right by taking the neutral position as its reference.
CONSTITUTION: Turning displacement of a steering wheel is transferred through a stub shaft 26, a torsion bar 28 and a worm shaft 27 to a piston 22, and it is slid and moved from the neutral position to the desired direction. Gear ratio of a steering gear assembled by a rack 22a of a piston 22 which converts the turning displacement of the steering gear to rocking displacement of a Pitman arm, and the sector gear 25a of a sector shaft 25 is formed by being made different so as to be asymmetrical for its left and right by taking the neutral position as its reference, which absorbs transmission torque and difference in the displacement in the left and right directions to cause in the link system assembled by the Pitman arm and the steering link mechanism.
