Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively inhibit the corrosion of an apparatus, by a method wherein water is added to a mixture of a solvent and a liquefied product (obtd. by treating coal with the solvent in a hydrogen atmosphere at an elevated temperature under a high pressure), and said mixture is washed with water, whereby corrosive materials are removed from the mixture of the liquefied product and the solvent.
CONSTITUTION: An emulsion breaker is added through a line 32 to a mixture of a solvent and a liquid coal-liquefied product passing, through a line 31. Then washing water is added through a line 33 to the mixture. The resulting mixture is thoroughly stirred in a stirring apparatus 12 for mixing. In a heat exchanger 13, the temperature of the mixture is adjusted to a temp. at which water, the solvent and the liquid liquefied product are not evaporated under pressure. Pref. the temp. is adjusted to 80°C or higher. Then the mixture of the liquid liquefied product and the solvent is introduced into an oil-water separating tank 14 where oily component and water are separated from each other by the difference in specific gravity. The oily component, i.e. a mixture of the liquid liquefied product and the solvent is supplied through a line 34 to a next stage as the mixture of the liquid liquefied product and the solvent, from which corrosive materials being removed.
