Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized tape recorder with good operability, by selectively operating the two working means using a planetary mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A head substrate 17 and a fast forward working rod 20 have the reciprocal motions between the 1st and 2nd positions as the 1st and 2nd working means. The 1st and 2nd cams 7a and 6a operate the 1st and 2nd working means. A detecting means detects the positions of cams 7a and 6a corresponding to at least the 1st position of the 1st and 2nd means. A planetary gear mechanism 3 includes a sun gear 5, a planetary gear 9, an inner gear 6 and a planetary carrier 7 each. In addition, a motor 11 which drives the gear 5 is provided along with a control means that gives selective control of rotation to the gear 9 and the carrier 7. In such constitution, the cam 7a is driven by the carrier 7, and the cam 6a is driven by the gear 6. At the same time, rotary control is given to the gear 5 by a detection lever 2.
