Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve compatibility between the copying and separation performance, by controlling the potential of a conductive carrying member lower at the start of separation and higher thereafter. CONSTITUTION:A conductive belt 6 is grounded via a power supply circuit 8 and the potential is controlled at the circuit 8, lower at the start of separation of a copy paper 4 and higher after a given time. The control of the circuit 8 is made with a timing control circuit 9 starting the operation with the output of a sensor 11. The sensor 11 by means of a filler transmits an output signal when the tip of the paper 4 reaches the point and it is given to a circuit 9.
