Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of the efficiency of the heat pipe due to the generation of hydrogen gas by a method wherein an aqueous solution of vanadic acid salt of a predetermined density is used within the steel heat pipe as an operation liquid. CONSTITUTION:The aqueous solution of vanadic acid salt, for example, metavanadic acid ammonia is sealed in the steel heat pipe. In this case, the density of the aqueous solution is about 0.1-5%. With the above structure, the hydrogen gas generating in the heat pipe can be controled to an extremely small quantity so that the lowering of the efficiency of the heat pipe can be prevented.
