Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled impregnating agent capable of increasing tensile strength, compressive strength, flexural strength, pressure resistance, surface hardness, etc. of metals, by using a (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer, a glycidyl compound, a polymerization initiator, and a phenolic polymerization inhibitor, as essential components.
CONSTITUTION: The objective agent is composed of (A) a (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer (e.g. trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate), (B), pref. 0.1W50% of a glycidyl compound (e.g. polypropylene glycol diglycidyl ether), (C) a polymerization initiator (e.g. lauroyl peroxide) and (D) pref. 500W1,000ppm of a phenolic polymerization inhibitor (e.g. hydroquinone). The metallic product to be impregnated, e.g. cast product, sintered product, etc., is immersed in the impregnating agent, and subjected to the vacuum (or pressure) impregnation in a closed impregnation tank.
