Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of getter in an electron tube manufacturing process by employing more than one kind of porous sintered mold member of specific metal or stainless steel as the metallic construction member in an electron tube. CONSTITUTION:More than one kind of porous sintered mold member is employed as the metallic construction member for an electron gun, shadow mask, shielding board etc. in an electron gun such as a color Braun tube. They are such metallic materials as Ba, Ti, Fe, stainless steel, Co, Cr, Mn and Al. More than two kind of said materials can be previously mixed to be used for the porous sintered mold member. Fine hollow holes in said mold member will absorb the gas well while simultaneously adsorb and fix the gas, thereby excellent vacuum performance is provided to the electron tube to enable the reduction of the amount of the getter thus to maitain the initial vacuum performance for long term.
