Abstract
PURPOSE:To observe a cylindrical inside wall brightly and satisfactorily over a wide range by disposing a lighting system and an observing system at a specific space with respect to the central axis of the cylinder of an observing device for cylindrical inside wall. CONSTITUTION:The beams of light emitted from a point P and reflected by regions A and B concentrate around the point S at an equal distance (r) from a center O at a 120 deg. angle from the point P, that is, on the same circumference. The radius (r) from the center O is roughly 2R/3 where the radius of this circumference is defined as R. Hence, a wide range of about 120 deg. angle between the regions A and B of the cylindrical wall is observed brightly by disposing a lighting system at the point P and an observing system at the point S, respectively. There is no need to say that the same holds true of the case when the lighting system and the observing system are substituted, on account of the principle of backward advance of rays.
