Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove iron oxide efficiently by utilizing equipment installed in a condensate system, by making magnetic force operate upon the iron oxide in a condensate in a power plant.
CONSTITUTION: Iron oxide (mainly, ferromagnetic bodies, or Fe3O4 and γ-Fe2O3) in a condensate flowing from condensate piping 4 into a condensate desalting apparatus 5 is acquired and removed by a permanent magnet 21. Further, the condensae having the iron oxide removed is passed through a fractionating plate 17 and then ion type solid materials in the condensate are removed through the ion exchange of ion exchange resin 18. The treated condensate is flowed out of the desalting apparatus 5 through a strainer 19. The permanent magnet 21 having acquired the iron oxide is taken out of the desalting apparatus 5 from a manhole 20A.
