When the step motor 28 is powered up through a lead line 41, the pulley 25 rotates to wind or unwind the steel belt 18. Since the steel belt 18 is equipped with a head moving body 40 through a plate 21, the head moving body 40 moves in a radius direction of a magnetic disk 1 as the steel belt 18 moves, and a magnetic head held on the moving body 40 and the magnetic disk 1 are posisitioned under the control of the feeding direction of an input current to the step motor 28 and the fed current.
