Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable article of different specifications to be correctly assembled on the same assembly line by a method wherein the component parts required for each respective article are selectively supplied to an automatic component-part supply shelf in accordance with the commands fed from a central controlling section. CONSTITUTION:When a belt conveyor 2 is moved at a speed commanded by the central controlling section 8 and a marker 9 is contacted to a lever 12 at the detection end 10 for A of the automatic component-part supply shelf 6, a detection signal is fed to the controlling section 8, and a selection signal for a component part A1 conforming to predetermind specifications is outputted from the controlling section 8 to the shelf 6 for A. By this output signal, a supplying member 11 is operated, the component part A1 at the tip end of a supplying arm 18 is taken out by a gripper, the arm 18 is rotated and the component part A1 is taken down onto a part table 4. Accordingly, articles of different specification can be correctly assembled on the same assembly line.
