Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled gas which does not cause the oxygen intoxication and is useful for the pressure reduction or remedy for dysbarism accompanied with diving work, by mixing oxygen with one or more air component gases such as nitrogen, helium, etc., thereby reducing the partial pressure of oxygen to below a specific level in use.
CONSTITUTION: A mixed inhalation gas composed of a mixture of oxygen and one or more air component gases such as nitrogen, helium, neon, argon, carbon dioxide gas, etc. and having the partial pressure of oxygen of ≤1,520mmHg in use. When the mixed gas contains nitrogen, carbon dioxide gas, or argon, its partial pressure is ≤3,900mmHg, ≤4mmHg, or ≤78mmHg, respectively. To improve the pressure reducing effect or the remedying effect, it is preferable to let the patient inhale a high pressure gas and expel the residual gas such as nitrogen and helium from the body as fast as possible. The above mixed gas increases the remedying effect without causing oxygen intoxication.
