Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability of a thyristor motor by simultaneously performing a current reducing operation at both an armature and a compensating field current controller with an intermittent commutation timing signal when a synchronous motor is intermittently commutated, thereby reducing the voltage of the compensating field coil. CONSTITUTION:An armature 101, a main field coil 102 and a cmpensating field coi 103 are provided at a synchronous motor 100. A current controller 216 amplifies the deviation between the output signal of a speed controller 111 and the output signal of a current detector 119 for detecting the current of the coil 103, and performs a current reducing operation of the coil 103 in synchronism with the current reducing operation of the armature according to the output signal of a logic circuit 115 at the time of intermittently commutating an inverter 108. In this manner, the output voltage of a compensating field comparator 110 is reduced to a negative level, and even if the voltage of Ldi/dt component produced at the coil 103 is added by the effect of the magnetic coupling due to the attenuation of the armature current, the coil voltage level can be reduced as compared with the conventional one.
