Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain numbers of copied images from one latent image by forming a magnetic latent image on a magnetic medium, made repellent against a developer, by a magnetic head, etc., and transferring a magnetic ink image to image receiving paper after development is performed by using magnetic ink. CONSTITUTION:On the surface of a base 13, a magnetic layer 12 of magnetite, CrO2, Co-Ni alloy, etc., is formed and on it, a coating water-repellent layer 11 of hydrocarbon silicone oil, fluorine oil, etc., having <=50erg/cm<2> surface free energy or a magnetic layer 12 with <=50erg/cm<2> surface free energy formed by dispersing magnetic powder in a polymer is provided, thus forming a magnetic medium 1. A magnetic latent image is formed on the medium 1 by a magnetic head 4, and then developed by supplying water dispersion type magnetic ink 2 by a roll 51, and the developed image is transferred to image receiving paper P. The ink 2 uses a water colloidal solution which contains a ferromagnetic material, such as magnetite having 50-500Angstrom grain size. When the surface of the magnetic medium is composed of a material with >=50erg/cm<2> free energy, a nonaqueous dispersed magnetic developer is used favorably.
