Abstract

PURPOSE:To make appearance of bead beautiful, eliminate undercut and improve detachability of slag by adding a specified quantity of specified components such as CaF2 to flux and specifying CaF2 equivalent. CONSTITUTION:This is flux for horizontal electroslag build up welding containing 15-35% CaF2, 15-34% TiO2, 10-30% SiO2, 5-25% CaO, 1-4% MgO and CaF2 equivalent =CaF2(%)+0.7 CaO(%)+0.5 (TiO2%+MgO%), K=45-65. By adding <=10% ZrO2 as a component to the flux, good looking, especially lustrous bead can be obtained.
