Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the capabilities of slurry dehydration upon loading and of slurry discharge upon unloading, by independently providing pumps for discharging both water and slurry, each in each of a plurality of ship's holds. CONSTITUTION:In a hopper tank 14 in each of a plurality of ship's holds 3 partitioned by lateral bulkheads 2, there are provided a pump housing 16, a sump 17 for drainage from a front ship's hold and a sump 18 for drainage from a rear ship's hold, which are arranged, independently from that in the other ship's holds. Further, a slurry sump 31 is provided under the lower hopper tank 14, from which pipe lines are laid to a pump 38 in the pump housing 16 and the sumps 17, 18, respectively.
