Abstract
PURPOSE:To prepare an ink jet head which is excellent in dimensional accuracy of orifice and improved in such a capacity that discharged ink droplets are caused to go straight and in uniformity of size of droplet by forming an orifice plate with hardened films of photosensitive resin and making the surface of the plate coarse. CONSTITUTION:Ink discharge pressure generating elements 2 are arranged on a substrate 1 of glass, etc. and a head main body 4 is prepared by binding this substrate 1 with another plate 3 on which grooves for ink passage are formed. To the side of this main body 4, a heated dry film photoresist 6 is thermally adhered to, and then a photomask 7 having mask patterns 7a, 7b corresponding to orifices and a netlike pattern 7c around thereof is laid over the photoresist 6 and light is illuminated from above the mask. Unhardened resist not exposed to light is dissolved and removed by a solvent, and a hardened photoresist film 6H on which pierced holes 8-1, 8-2 and fine uneven surface (coarse surface) 9 are formed is developed. EFFECT:Since no adhesive is used, ink passage is not clogged with surplus adhesive.
