Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a wood component with binder activity, by keeping a mixture of powdery coal and wood powder in the presence of steam at a specific temperature for a given time.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture of (A) 100pts.wt. powdery coal and (B) 20W50pts.wt. wood powder is kept at 80W100°C in the presence of steam evolved from the components A and B for a give time so that the wood component is provided with binder activity, and the mixture is molded under pressure in a state as it is, to give a composite solid fuel. The wood component can be provided with binder activity by using even coke powder or charcoal powder instead of the component A.
EFFECT: Powdery coal and scrap wood are effectively utilized, and substitution of petroleum is promoted.
