Abstract
The present invention relates to a fuel briquette and to the method for preparing it and, more particularly, to a briquette produced by combining a cellulose-type material such as wood sawdust or another plant material and a carbonaceous material such as coal, coke, charcoal or pulverized coal or peat in a ratio of between approximately 1:1 and 1:6, and pressing the mixture at a pressure of between approximately 150 MPa and 650 MPa and at a temperature of between approximately 120 degree C and 320 degree C without the use of a binder. The moisture content determines the time required for the pressing operation and is preferably between around 3% and 25% by weight.
