PURPOSE:To obtain a toner enabling clear transfer onto white paper and requiring no carrier by forming a self-chargeable toner with a composition A and a composition B ranking differentially in an charging train so that the surface of the toner is divided into 2 parts. CONSTITUTION:A soln. of a composition A is first applied to a support in 10- 20mum dry thickness and dried, and a soln. of a composition B whose rank in an charging train is different from the rank of the composition A is similarly applied. The resulting 2-layered sheet is detached from the support and coarsely pulverized to obtain a toner. In order to make the compositions A, B mutually chargerable, for example, in order to positively charge the composition A and negatively charge the composition B, an electron donative polymer contg. nitrogen is used as the matrix polymer of A, and an electron accepting polymer such as a hydrocarbon polymer is used as the matrix polymer of B. The resulting toner is charged positively and negatively at both sides, respectively by mutual friction, and it is used as a self-chargeable toner in the development of a latent image.
