Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a small-size, low-cost printer having a simple structure by using a system in which printing is applied on a medium put between a platen part and a printing part while moving both synchronously in the same direction. CONSTITUTION:A carrier 4 provided with a printing head 1 is fixed to a timing belt 7a laid on a pulley 9 driven by pulleys 8b and 8c and a motor 10b. On the other hand, a platen 2c is fixed to a timing belt 7b laid on the pulleys 8b, 8c, 8d and 8e in the face of said printing head 1. While moving the printing head 1 and the platen 2c synchronously through the timing belts 7a and 7b, a desired printing is applied onto a medium 11 put between the head 1 and the platen 2c. In this case, a small-size platen 2c may be used.
