PURPOSE:To protect an expensive photosensitive drum, by providing a paper clogging detection mechanism on the copying paper receiving inlet side of a turn roller, and stopping the photosensitive drum by a prescribed detection signal in the event of paper clogging. CONSTITUTION:Copying paper P which has passed through a transfer part is placed and held between a turn roller 7 and a holding roller 9, and is shifted to a fixed part, but on the receiving inlet side of copying paper P is placed a paper clogging detection mechanism 14. The detection mechanism 14 is constituted of a switch operating lever 17 which has been provided so as to freely rotate centering around a supporting shaft 16, and a detection switch 18, and a long hole 19 of the lever 17 is fitted into a locating pin 20. According to said constitution, in case when paper clogging has occurred, the operating lever 17 is rotated counterclockwise by deformed copying paper P, the switch 18 is operated, and a drum 1 is stopped by a detection signal, therefore, the photosensitive drum 1 is not damaged.
