Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a photoreceptor from being damaged by an operation, by providing a paper feeding roller 14 for holding transfer paper, on a moving part for providing a jam processing space. CONSTITUTION:In case when a jam has been detected by a jam detection device 7, an operator opens a door, and operates a release lever 19. A guide device 18 turns downward centering around a rotary shaft 17. As a result, since a paper feeding roller 14 is provided as near as possible a trnansfer position 1a, the tip of transfer paper P is positioned at the jam detection device 7 and its rear end is held by the paper feeding roller 14, when a jam has stopped. Accordingly, when the paper feeding roller 14 lowers downward, the transfer paper P is drawn and detached smoothly from the circimferential surface of a photosensitive drum 1, and the photosensitive drum is not damaged when a jam is removed.
