Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the friction loss of a vane by forming throttled oil grooves each of which is cut on the side surface of the vane so as to extend to the midway towards the top edge from the bottom edge part of the vane and is practically protruded from a cylinder only when the amount of protrusion of the vane from the cylinder increases over the prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:Each top edge of a plurality of oil relief grooves 120 which are cut on both side surfaces of a vane 108 as shown in the figure extends to the positios separated inwardly by (hb) from the top edge of the vane.The value (hb) is determined by the point at which the angle of revolution of a rotor 9 forms just 90 deg. when the amount of protrusion of the vane 108 due to the rotation of the rotor 9 increases larger than (hb). As the oil relief grooves 120 are extended up to the point (hb), the oil relief grooves 120 are opened by about 50% to an intake chamber (not shown in the figure) relative to the revolution of the rotor 9. Therefore, wear of the vane 108 can be reduced, and its durability can be improved.
