Abstract

PURPOSE:To heighten the strength of a crankshaft, by reducing the number of the lubricating passages of the crankshaft to two which is one less than that of a conventional crankshaft. CONSTITUTION:A lubricator comprises two oil supply holes 3, 4 opened in the peripheral surface of a crankpin 1a and corresponding to connecting rods 2, and a lubricating oil passage which consists of two passages, i.e., an oil supply passage 5 and an oil conveyance passage 6. The oil supply passage 5 is opened in the peripheral surface of one crank web 1b coupled with the crankpin 1a and extends through almost the central part of the crankpin obliquely toward the axis of the crankshaft 1 and is connected to the oil conveyance passage 6. The oil conveyance passage is opened in the end of the crankshaft 1 and extends from said end in the direction of the axis l1 of the shaft so that lubricating oil sent under pressure from an oil pump is introduced into the oil conveyance passage 6 and conducted to the oil supply passage 5.
