Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform fault checking easily with a simple mechanism by providing an electric power source for testing and a changeover switch for a circuit which converts the weight signal of an electronic balance from analog to digital and properly inputting the outputs thereof to an AD converter. CONSTITUTION:The weight signal from a balance part is converted to a count signal and a polarity signal by an AD converter, and further, the prescribed signal from a test electric power source is inputted selectively to said AD converter by a changeover switch. For example, the electric signal generated in accordance with weights in a balance part 43 is applied via a filter 80 and an amplifier 77 to an AD converter 82, the output signal is transmitted together with the signals of an auxiliary counter circuit 84 and an auxiliary polarity circuit 85 to a central processor via an I/O port 39. At this time, constant voltage is properly applied to the AD converter 82 by a switch 79, whereby the presence or absence of any fault in the arithmetic part and display part is checked easily.
