Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the background information of an original in an extremely simple way with no control of the hardware, by setting the lower limit value to the threshold level for the binary coding. CONSTITUTION:A CCD control circuit 3 receives the output signal of an oscillator 1 and delivers an image signal Se to a CCd module 2. On the other hand, a counter 4 receives the output of the oscillator 1 and delivers the threshold levels successively from an ROM5. The threshold value given from the ROM5 is converted into an analog signal Sd through a D/A converter 6 and fed to a comparator 7 along with the signal Se. At the same time, the threshold levels forming a dither matrix are written successively into the ROM5 in correspondence to the addresses. The threshold value exists only in a range of 0.3-1, for example. In other words, a lower limit level 0.3 is set. As a result, a high-contrast image containing no background signal is recorded at a recording part 8.
