Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of a head and a disc for transporation and movement, by providing a circuit which drives a carriage to the outside circumference by a manual switch and locking the carriage, which is brought to the outside circumference, with a screw from the external. CONSTITUTION:A circuit which drives a carriage 4 to the outside circumferential part by a manual switch besides having normal track access control and track following control functions is added to a positioner driving circuit. This manual switch is depressed to latch the carriage 4 on the outside circumference, and a lock screw 11 inserted to a lock screw hole 10 provided in the center of a yoke 8 of a linear voice coil motor 100 is screwed into the carriage 4 against the force of a spring 12. Thus, the carriage 4 is locked easily to prevent the damage of a magnetic head and a disc due to vibration for transportation and movement.
